Africa Brain Trust In D.C. Tomorrow

The Africa Brain Trust is coming into town tomorrow, featuring a day of discussion between luminaries such as International Criminal Court Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo, ex-NBA player (and now president of his own foundation aimed at improving health, education, and quality of life for people in Congo) Dikembe Mutombo, Enough’s own John Prendergast, and notably, South Sudanese president Salva Kiir. Somali and South African representatives will also participate, on a variety of panels centered on issues of justice and accountability, conflict, economic security, human rights, and U.S. policy in Africa.

The brain trust is hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and will take place at the Washington Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drop in on a panel, or, swing back to Enough Said for our coverage of the event. (With the likes of Ocampo and Kiir on the panels, discussion will no doubt touch on Sudan as well.)
